 Jas Yonjan 'pashi' The poet Jas Yonjan was born on December 14, 1949 in the village of Sirise in Chungthung Chiakman, Darjeeling.

M.A. in Education. After doing so, he received his Ph.D. Jas Yonjan has also done a 'Diploma in Journalism'.

Having studied in Darjeeling, Yonjan is currently working as a news anchor for All India Radio Kharsang and as a professor at Kharsang College.

Yonjan's pen has been used in many genres like poetry, drama, novel, criticism, essay, translation etc. Poet Yonjan, who has been editing various magazines and publishing his works since his student days, is known as a progressive poet in the field of Nepali poetry. In his poems, there is a voice of rebellion against the eternal anomalies and distortions of the system. His poems express the concern of the future generation by depicting the confusing situation of the present generation. The voice for world peace has been heard in the poems of the poet Pyasi, who realizes that the world is becoming turbulent due to the growing hatred, envy and jealousy between people. His poems also contain satire in some places. Expressing frustration, indignation and rebellion, Pyasi has also called for the formation and change of the new society in his poems.

Jas Yonjan has been awarded the Kharsang Arugi Award for Literary Service. He has also received All India Radio Drama Writing Award. He has been awarded the 2004 Sahitya Akademi Award for his work Shanti-Sandha.
