Haribhakta Katuwal was born on July 2, 1935 in a place called Bogibil in the present Dibrugarh district of Assam. B.A. Although he studied till, he could not complete it.

Haribhakta Katuwal's poems, which compose simple, easy poems by capturing the things around his life and society, are honestly presented in a way that the reader cannot easily understand or see. Like Gopal Prasad Rimal and Bhupi Sherchan, he has composed simple and sentimental poems.

Poet Katuwal, who writes prose poems in free rhythm, has expressed the frustrations and tragic situations in the society, the inconsistent moments of life, the struggle to make a living even in small things, etc. There is also satire in his poetry. He has used symbols and imagery in simple and ordinary speech in his poems.

Haribhakta Katuwal is also a well-known lyricist. Famous Nepali singers have sung songs composed by him.

Haribhakta Katuwal has also edited Mukti, Himalaya, Pragya, Himani, Sangeet Sarita, Banki, Abhivyakti etc.

He died on September 10, 1980 at Dibrugarh Medical College.
