Salon Karthak was born on March 10, 1946 in Rimbik, Darjeeling. Kalebud's S.U.M.I. Salon received her schooling from Kalebung College. And M.A. from North Bengal University. Have done He also holds a Masters in Education from North Eastern Hill University. He is currently serving as a director of the internationally influential organization Nepali Every Home.

Salon Karthak has a distinct and distinctive identity in the genre of Niyatra in Nepali literature. Carthage, who has traveled all over the world, has described the places he visited in a sweet language. He has imparted the experience and knowledge he has gained not only in foreign countries but also in his own villages and neighboring places through his intentions.

Salon Karthak, who has been writing since the 1970s, has a charming style of writing. He grabs the reader as if he is sitting next to him and talking.

In addition to Niyatra, Salon has written stories, novels, biographies, etc. He has also published a book of biography titled Pastor Ganga Prasad Pradhan's Life Character (2001). He is also interested in compiling Lepcha folktales.
